We is ghetto, yes we is.

Do I need to mention that we're painting the house? Didn't think so. And for the record, to you nay-saying friends, yes, we are saving a considerable amount of money and yes, we are getting some actual work done between blog posts. Promise.

Yesterday, we finished the prep work. Yeah for being able to actually paint this weekend. What a concept. Part of the prep work was pulling back these giant arborvitae so we can paint the west wall of the house.

Chuck's simple plan: wrap them in plastic and tie with string. Solid plan, Charles. It actually worked like a charm.

And nothing has ever looked so ghetto. I'm sure our HOA is loving that they gave us permission to do this. Our house is a real treat for the neighbors right now.

But there was something about the arborvitae in the blue tarp. We died. We were on the street in full blown hysterics, there was some tinkling in pants, and we couldn't breathe. He looked so regal in his blue jacket. It even has lapels. Take another look.
We started to wonder about Mr. Blue Arborvitae and the life he could lead with his new look. I blame this on paint fumes. It's really getting to us.

Captain Arborvitae and his ship.

Fred Astaire Arborvitae in a chorus line. Such a gentleman.

And Deadbeat Arborvitae living in a van down by the river.

Apparently, we need to get out more.

  4. Take it to the NEXT step guys. You need to get that tree a hat, mittens, shoes, -- the works. Now that would be Klahanie classic.

  8. Love it...I may have to drive by next time I go to my sister's house, just to see Mr. Arborvitae. I am sad, though, that there are no pictures of Jack and Mr. Arborvitae. Surely they would be BFFs!
