Just make it go away.

Painting the house sucks. There, I said it. I kinda hate my life right now and I need the hurt to just go away.

On the bright side, I have learned a little about myself through this never ending process. Not that I needed to know any more about myself even though I am pretty fantastic. I now know that the price of my sanity is $4,500 -- the minimum cost to have professional "not-Chuck or Susie-men" paint our house.

I think that's a good thing to know. I know what my happiness is worth. $4,500. Does that make me cheap? Is that too cheap for sanity and happiness? Maybe in my 30s, I'll raise the price or lower it. I haven't decided. I have plenty of years to figure that out.

So for all the questions, the answer is no. No, we are no closer to being done and I actually think we are going backwards. We have half of one side done. Not one side. 1/2 of one side. No, we cannot come out and play because we are babysitting Benjamin Moore and his priming friends. And they stink at hide n' seek.

What I L-O-V-E is that my attitude is in the padded toilet right now and Chuck's the one doing all the work. Bless that man and his never ending "glass is half full", "we can do anything" attitude. I would like to shatter the half-ars glass and scream I DON'T WANNA.

Fine, I'll get off my soap box. Besides, I have painting to do.

  1. I just found your blog. You commented on my inspiration board on Style Me Pretty. Lovin' what I'm readin' - from one Type A to another. :)

  2. Mike painted houses in the summer during college...its hard labor...next time call Painting by Mike. :) lol

  3. So let me get this right: you are like 6 months into home ownership and you're whinning about a little paint?? Here's my suggestion: invite Jack Daniels over to help Benjamin Moore and whilst the time elasped may grow, the feelings of dispair won't.

Or you could just leave the house as is for completion next summer. Or the one after that. Sort of like the Mount Rushmore of home improvement projects. I'm sure your HOA won't mind.

Tell me about it. Oh and thanks for validating my life.
